01 — Interview and Performance Review
Interview
We interview all students at the start of the program as if we were prospective employers. We understand most teachers do not have the time to conduct interviews. We can provide questions, and/or our interview survey.
Interviews will serve as a form of self-assessment later in the year.
Performance Review
At the end of each semester, each team conducts a peer-review survey using the Likert scale on skills statements.
For example:
This team member was engaged and provided their input and feedback regularly.
This team member was able to collaborate with the group, acquiesce as needed, and support the team.
As well as questions to help provide teachers with additional insight on individual strengths.
Which team member(s) really stepped up to get the project done?
Which team member(s) is/are the most positive member?
Which team member(s) challenged you the most?
02 — Live Project
Mindsage utilizes a project-based learning environment to help students develop and reinforce the soft skills they are learning about in each lesson.
Focus Group. Ask each student to create a focus group of at least three people outside of their class. The focus group will answer a few survey questions and provide feedback on what the team creates.
Campaign Theme. Teams decide on a theme related to what teens/young adults are dealing with.
Survey. The team creates a survey on which they will base their social media campaign.
Data analysis. The team reviews their survey and decides how they will craft their messaging.
Production. The team then creates the graphics for social media posts for their campaign. Usually, the first part of the campaign runs for two weeks.
Feedback. The team gathers feedback from their focus group on the social media campaign.
Refine. The team refines messaging as needed and completes the last two weeks of the campaign.
